FAQ's

When does registration open? 
Registration for the 2025 Drake Road Races will open with the lowest prices on October 18th, 2024.


What is the race schedule?
7:30 a.m. - Half Marthon and 10k start

7:45 a.m. - 5k start

What is included in my registration? 
All participants receive a premium gender specific apparel item, commemorative race medal, professional race timing, free race day photography, a free ticket to the Drake Relays Distance Carnival on Thursday, April 24 and post-race refreshments and support from vendors after your run. 

What time does the race start?
The Drake Road Races Half Marathon and 10k start at 7:30 a.m. followed by the 5k at 7:45 a.m.

Where is the start line?
Outside Drake Stadium on Forest Avenue by the Bulldog Plaza.


Where is the finish line?
Inside Drake Stadium on the iconic Blue Oval.


Where can I park?
Parking is available in campus parking Zone 1 on the corner of Forest and 25th. Avoid no parking signs on streets around campus that are part of the course. 

How long is the half marathon course open?
The route is open for three hours at a 14:00 per mile pace limit.


Can I walk the 5k course?
Yes! Since the 5k course shares the same route as the half marathon, it provides the opportunities for walkers to participate in the Drake Road Races as well.


Are there aid stations and restrooms available?
Restroom access is available before the start of the race inside Drake Stadium. There are aid stations along each route that will have water available. Portalet toilets will be near aid stations. 


Are strollers allowed in the race?
No, for the safety of all participants strollers are not allowed.


When is packet pick-up?
The Relays Health & Fitness Expo serves as the packet pick-up for the Drake Road Races and the Grand Blue Mile. It will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the Knapp Center with start & end time to be announced at a later date. 

Parking is available in campus parking Lot 1 on the corner of Forest and 25th. 

Can someone else pick up my bib and race items?
Yes! You are able to have a friend or family member pick up your bib and race items or you can pick up multiple participants items. Please have their confirmation QR Code available at pick up. Participants will receive their confirmation QR Code prior to the Health & Fitness Expo. 


Do all participants get a shirt and
 medal?

All registered participants will get a premium apparel item at packet pick-up. Every finisher in the Half Marathon, 10k and 5k will receive a medal corresponding to their distance after crossing the finish line.

Can I participate virtually?
Yes, we offer virtual participation for all three of our races distances. They are set at a flat fee with shipping included in the price. Virtual registration is open until event day, April 19, 2025.

When will I recieve my packet if I chose a virtual race?
Virtual participants registered by March 31, 2025 (11:59p.m.): Your virtual packet will be mailed to arrive in advance of the in-person Drake Road Races.

Virtual participants registered Arpil 1, 2025 and after: Your virtual packet will be sent within two weeks post the in-person Drake Road Races. You can still run and log your results without receiving your packet. If you registered prior to March 31, 2025 but didn't receive your packet, please confirm your waiver has been signed. 

What is the Bulldog Double?
Athletes who complete both the Drake Road Races and the Grand Blue Mile receive an additional commemorative medal after they finish the Grand Blue Mile later in the week.


Can I change my registration to a different distance?
Athletes may change their registration up until April 4, 2025 at 11:59 PM. A $15 service fee will be charged to athletes that need to update their registration after that date.

Can I defer my entry to next year?
Athletes may only defer their half marathon registration to next year's event for a deferral fee of $25.

Can I transfer my registration to another athlete?
Athletes may transfer their registration to another participants for a transfer fee of $25.
